3 Years Old!

Happy 3rd Birthday to our sweet boy!  We are so blessed to be your parents and love you so much!!!  Here is what’s happening with you at 3 years old.
• No change here…you’re still a really long lean guy!  At your doctor visit today, you were 42 inches (99%) and 36.6 pounds (89%).  They also checked your vision and hearing; you passed both!
• Camden wears 3T shorts, 4T tops and pants, and 5T pjs.  Sometimes it is pretty tough to fit your long body!  You wear a size 10 in shoes.
•You continue to be a fabulous nighttime sleeper!  You sleep from about 8:30 pm to 8:00 am every night and we never hear a peep!  You moved into a big boy bed shortly after your 2nd birthday and do an amazing job staying in bed.  You always wait until Mama or Daddy comes to get you before you get out in the mornings.  Mama got nervous because you had a streak of several no nap days, but you are being consistent again!  You go down around 2:30 and sleep 1.5-2 hours.  You sleep with your Nebraska blanket, Mickey Mouse, Mr. Penguin, and Mr. Dog.  You are your mother’s son in that there is an exact science to the bedtime routine and to how your pillows and stuffed animals are arranged!  We still use a sound machine at night and you were never bothered by little sister crying when she was younger.
• We potty trained when you were 26 months and you’ve done great!  You’re such a big boy in this area and it has been really nice to only have 1 child in diapers.
• You’re a pretty good eater and love to have “snacks” as you say!  Some of your favorite foods are: whole grain waffles, cereal, blackberries, strawberries, smoothies, cheese, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, pizza, tomatoes, and cucumbers; although today at the doctor you said your favorite food was steak.  Not sure where that came from!
• Cam has Mama's eyes, hair and skin color with Daddy's features.  He has 20 teeth and usually bruises all over from his adventures.  He is all boy!  We also get told ALL the time how much Halle looks like him.
• Our little guy is very social!  He makes friends wherever we go and walks up to strangers and introduces himself.  Love this about him!  We may have to address stranger danger soon though.
• Camden is quite the chatterbox!  He talks nonstop and has also picked up an East Texas accent!  So funny!
• I love that you have become a great balance of active and cuddler.  You are a very affectionate boy which Mama loves (and Daddy too), but also are very busy!
• Camden loves to stay busy!  He has done great at MDO 2 days a week and loves to stay busy on our other days.  As soon as he wakes up, he asks where we’re going for the day and which friends he’ll see.
• His overall behavior is pretty good and he almost always follows directions the first time. We do have to address being whiney.  Time outs usually deter him, but we have had to spank a hand full of times.  H is quick to say sorry when he makes a sad choice and I feel like I can see the lessons sinking in.
• He is a little sponge and loves learning!  We try to use Halle’s morning naptime as learning time.  Cam can identify all his letters and know all the sounds, knows most of his numbers, can spell his name, writes a few letters, and lots of other things that amaze me!  Of course, I am supposed to be the proud Mama!
• He loves to sing!  He can entertain himself for quite some time singing!  He even frequently puts on concerts for his cars or dinosaurs.
• Some of his favorite things right now are: SPORTS..any kind...he loves to play and watch, cars and trucks, trains, dinosaurs, crafts, bubbles, music, helping Daddy "fix" things, Dinosaur Train, Chuck the Truck,  Leap Frog videos, giving hugs, taking showers, reading books, and pretending.
• He is such a great big brother!  Halle absolutely ADORES him!  We were so thankful to how smoothly he adjusted to not being an only child.

First Trip to the Dentist

Camden was a super patient and got a great report at his first trip to the dentist!
Watching a video of Kirby the monkey at the dentist.

Picking out a new toothbrush and flavored toothpaste!  He chose grape!
Halle was such a sweet girl (as usual) during the visit.
Rocking the sunglasses to block the light!
SO proud of the AWESOME job our little guy did!

Camden's 3rd BirthDAY

Camden's birthday party isn't until next weekend, but we celebrated as a family on Sunday at Chuck E Cheese!  He was SO excited to go there and really enjoyed a lot of the games.

Camden got a BIKE from Grandpa and Mimi and is already riding so well!  He really got into his gifts this year.

Hodgepodge

Just cruising on the cool bike at Freebirds.
Wrapping paper roll doubles as a great tunnel!
Sweet girl is starting to wave:)
This pic made me laugh!  Toby used it in his recent genetics lesson.
Camden loves making crafts and was really excited about this card he made for Nana after her knee surgery.
Best daddy ever.
Cam is loving his new busy bags!

Life with a 3 year old!  Toby was gone camping for the weekend and I decided to take a relaxing bath after a LONG day and this is what I find...pinto beans!
Love this face.
"Exploring" with his buddies
Can't get enough of this cutie.

Camden's MDO had Open House last week and he was so proud to show us his artwork on display.

Wonderful Weather

This pretty weather adds endless opportunities for fun during the day!
Mr. Cool's sunglasses are a wardrobe staple this spring!

Lots of picnic lunches!
Driving cars on the number road...

Halle loves to swing!
Camden likes to pretend this is an ice cream store.  I always get to buy lots of ice cream on our visits!
Big bro decided he wanted to push her and I was thankful they were both occupied for a few minutes!

Digging for Dinosaurs

Camden has entered into a dinosaur phase thanks to his buddy Ryan!  These two had a blast digging for dinosaurs (that the daddies buried) on Saturday night at the sand.

"Can I wake her up?"

Camden asks this nearly every time he hears Halle waking up from a nap and this is how he likes to "wake" her!

She doesn't seem to mind one bit!

Busy Bags

Cam and I LOVE busy bags!  They are great activities to pull out on a rainy day or just when you need a break from the norm!  I've also taken a couple to doctor appointments where I need to keep little man occupied.

This is the second time my lifegroup has done a busy bag exchange.  We each make 10 of the same activities and then exchange...simple enough and you come home with 10 different activities!  Camden couldn't wait to try out our new ones on Monday.

And a pic from last week working on one of our old busy bags!

"Scooter"

She started where Copper is sleeping and ended up there!  Her favorite spot is under the tv cabinet...big bro likes to call her "scooter."
