10 Weeks (1 day early)

Wow...double-digits! Camden turns ten weeks old tomorrow. We are leaving on a trip with his family, so I decided I better post now.

Don't I look like such a little boy when daddy sits me like this?

Mama is loving the rolls on the horizon...check out my double chin!

I love to play on the changing table, but smiles usually disappear with the camera flash. Here are the remains of one!

Still loving my tummy time!

We've had to start leaving Camden's legs out of the swaddle, nothing could keep him in! He has actually slept just as well with them out.

The Love of a Cousin

Toby & I are blessed to have a sweet eight year old niece, Mary Grace. She was our only niece or nephew for six years and certainly has a special bond with the two of us! Mary Grace loves coming to visit us and is such a joy in our lives. When we found out we were expecting, she was SO excited! I was curious to see if a little baby would actually be as much fun as she was hoping for and along the way she was hoping for a girl. I thought she might be a little disappointed or disinterested when Camden arrived. Boy, was I wrong! This girl loves her cousin. :)
She has already gotten to come visit him 3 times most recently this past week. She loved helping with getting him up, holding him, bathing him, dressing him, and just playing! My favorite line of the week was "I just want to hold him all night, but if he starts crying...I'm going to give him to you or Uncle Toby." Smart girl!
Here are some of the precious pictures from their time together and the card she made for him in the hospital. Mary Grace, you are the best big cousin ever...Camden loves you!!!

9 Weeks of Fun

What a fun 9 weeks we have had with our sweet Camden! This past week he got to spend lots of time with his Nana, Papa, and Mary Grace. Needless to say, he was not short on attention.

2 Months

Camden turned 2 months old on June 21st! He smiles quite a bit, but of course there were no smiles to be seen when it was time for our monthly picture. :) We still think he looks adorable even when he's not smiling. Below are some fun facts about Camden at 2 months.

  • We went to the doctor on Monday and he did great, shots and all! He was 25 inches long (96th percentile) & 12 pounds 14 ounces (76th percentile). We are so thankful to have a healthy, happy boy!

  • His clothes are fitting him a little better now (we're thankful it is shorts season!) and he is wearing 0-3 months. He wears size 1 diapers. Mama is having fun putting him in cute clothes now that he fills them out a little more.

  • He has gotten a little inconsistent with eating, some days he eats a lot one feeding and the next day at the same feeding, he doesn't eat much. Mama was a little concerned, but the doctor assures her that he is gaining weight just as he should. He eats six times a day and eats 4 1/2-6 ounces when he takes a bottle.

  • Cam is still sleeping like a champ! (I hope I don't jinx us now.) He naps 1 1/2-2 hours after each feeding and sleeps from about 11:30-7:30 each night. We put him down at 8:30 to sleep and give him a dream feed around 11:00. He slept through the night (11:30-7:30) for the first time at 7 weeks...we celebrated BIG time!

  • Camden is a wiggle worm! He is constantly moving, even in his sleep which leads me to mention that he is pretty good at getting out of his swaddle. We are continually working on keeping him in it.

  • He looks just like his dad...people say it all the time. Some people are nice and say he has his mama's eyes, but it is pretty clear he is a mini Toby!

  • Camden has great head control for being only two months. He really likes to be held upright and even started using the Bumbo some this past week.

  • SMILES...wow, I never knew seeing your baby smile could make you feel so good. We love them! And we look pretty goofy working so hard for him to smile at us.

  • Cam has started talking to us quite a bite which usually is followed by some smiles. It is so fun to interact with him this way.

  • We're still working on getting better at being in his car seat. If he asleep, he is fine, but he hates being trapped in it when he is awake.

As I'm re-reading this, I'm reflecting on what a fun month it has been! I was just telling my mom last night that I had no idea how fun a 2 month old could be. We love Camden!!!

7 Weeks Old

What a fun week it has been! Camden is really getting a lot more interactive...it is so fun to see him smile at us and I love how he "talks" to us. Mimi bought him a cute little outfit for church on Sunday and when we put it on, I couldn't believe how much older he looked! He is officially out of all newborn clothes and too long for 0-3 month pants and long-sleeve shirts.

This has also been a hard week as I went back to work...only 3 1/2 weeks! It is crazy how much I miss my little guy while I am gone, but am so thankful for a hubby that is taking care of him. Toby does such a great job with him and even sends me frequent pics during the day to see their adventures.

Highlights from the week are here. :)

Thank you Grampa & Mimi!

A HUGE thank you to Grampa & Mimi!!! With me going back to work before school was out, we needed someone to watch our sweet little boy. Grampa & Mimi came to the rescue and kept Camden for us. While they were here they also did so many helpful things around the house. It was like getting all the projects you always want to do, but never have time for done without any work on your part. Awesome! And we are fully stocked on food for weeks. More than anything, they did a great job of taking care of Camden. We are so thankful for parents/grandparents that are happy to help us on our new journey of parenthood! (Sorry that there are no pictures of Grampa...I haven't been as good at taking pics since going back to work.)

Cuddling with his puppy dog.

I'm making this post one day early as tomorrow is my last day on maternity leave. so hard to believe! I will be busy with last minute back to work preparations and relishing every minute with my sweet boy. I'm excited to see all of my students and the great staff, but know I will miss my little boy like crazy. However, I can do anything for less than a month...I will survive! I also know he will be in great hands. Toby's parents are coming down tonight and will be helping with the transition. We are so blessed by great families to help out and that Toby has the summer off! Highlights from the week are above.

This past weekend Camden got to hang out with Nana, Aunt Kara, Mary Grace, and Garrett. He also got to meet his Great-Grandmother Matkin for the first time! We really enjoyed the visit and wish it could have been longer. As you can tell, Camden was not short one people to hold him, even his 2 1/2 year old cousin joined in! Thank you guys for making the trip here, we love you!
