Smiles for 18 Weeks

Our sweet little boy is 18 weeks old and has become so smiley lately... I LOVE it! It is fun that you don't have to work as hard to get him to smile and that the most random things cause him to grin. I think a lot of the smiles this week were because we had a special visit from Nana, Aunt Kara, Mary Grace, and Garrett. There certainly was not a shortage of people for Cam to play with! I hope these pictures make your day a little brighter.

This will make you giggle :)

I mentioned in an earlier post that us saying the word "elefante" makes Camden laugh, so here it is for your viewing pleasure!

How does he do that?

A few weeks ago we started having Camden sleep un-swaddled. He adjusted quickly to it and also quickly began sleeping on his tummy. In fact, he now gets upset if he rolls over to his back at night. We laugh at never knowing what position he will be in and wonder how he gets that way. He recently has started scooting himself into the corners of the crib and often sleeps with his little bottom in the air! It is so cute! Here are a few of our snapshots from this past week. :)

4 Months Old

Happy 4 Months to our sweet boy! I love the stage he is at right now, so happy and smiley. Here are some details about Camden right now.

• We went to the doctor yesterday and got a great report. No surprise that he is still in the 96th percentile for height (27 inches) and 61st for weight (15 pounds 8 ounces). She confirmed that he is a healthy, long and lean guy! He also did great for his shots. We got the okay to start baby food when we’re ready!
• Camden wears 3-6 month clothes right now and looks so cute in them! I don’t know how much longer we will last in this size of sleepers before he can’t bend his knees. I think this may be a common trend for our little guy. He wears size 2 diapers during the day and size 3 at night. We started this after a few unfortunate night experiences!
• Not much has changed in the eating department this past month. Camden eats 5 times a day (about every 3 ½ hours during the day) and eats between 7-9 ounces when he takes a bottle. He still nurses and takes a bottle well although he likes to stop for frequent smile/play breaks.
• We continue to be blessed with a great little sleeper! This month we stopped swaddling him and he has done great. After several nights of him rolling himself over to his tummy, we have started putting him down that way now. It seems to help with his naps and the 45 minute intruder seems to be almost gone! At night, Cam sleeps from about 7:30-7:30 with a dream feed around 8:30. He takes two 2 hour naps and a shorter “cat” nap in the late afternoon.
• Camden is an active boy! He kicks non-stop…in the bath, the car seat, bouncy seat, stroller, and even when he eats. I think he will be a bundle of energy when he is a toddler for sure! He also is constantly rolling over and side to side when he is on the floor or bed. Cam still likes to be held in a standing position and also likes to practice sitting.
• Camden’s favorite toys right now are: exersaucer, Johnny Jump-up, bouncy seat, and his stuffed elephants! He is starting to be really interested in toys and grabs for them. He also grabs at the pages when we read books.
• His smiles are become more and more common and he laughs at the most random things! The easiest way to get him to giggle is to say “elefante” (don’t ask how this got started). It is hilarious! Saturday night my mom, sister, niece, and nephew had a photo shoot with Camden and I’m sure we all looked crazy saying “elefante” over and over. Oh the things I will do for that sweet laugh!
• Our little boy has some crazy hair! From day one, he has had a full head of hair complete with a big cow lick in the front. Needless to say the cow lick has become more impossible to work with as his hair has gotten longer. He has also lost some hair on one side, but not on the other. It is so funny to see what his hair will look like each day!
• I am happy to report that improvement has been made in the car seat department. Although he doesn’t love it still, it is not the battle it used to be! However, the new battle is the jogging stroller! He cries on and off most of our morning runs. This makes it super hard on Mama, but I know we’ve got to get through it.

Camden Lloyd is such a blessing to us! We are absolutely in love with our sweet son.

Back to School & 17 Weeks

The full time stay at home mom gig has officially started. :) With Toby back at work, Camden and I are on our own! We have been and plan on staying busy with lots of fun adventures, but will always look forward to the evenings when Daddy comes home.

Cam is at such a fun stage right now. I love how the littlest and oddest things make him giggle. I hope no one ever secretly tapes me while playing with him, because I know I look crazy! :) Here are some pictures from the week and updates along the way.
I love this pic! Copper usually goes running with me, but in the heat of the summer, he has become a wimp. The whole time I am gone, he likes to stare out the dining room window waiting for me to return. Toby decided Camden wanted to wait for me too. :)
Our little man waiting while Daddy did some back to school shopping. I can't believe how old he is looking!
We went to Abuelo's the other night and Camden was obsessed with the fountain. When I tried to get a picture of my boys and Cam wouldn't look, Toby decided to join him.

You can't tell in this pic, but Camden is checking himself out in the mirror on his exersaucer. He has recently started enjoying playing in the reflection.

I feel like he is saying...."Really, Mama, another picture?!"

I am really hoping his eyes stay blue. :)
This is a very typical pose for Camden these days. Anytime he is on his back, he grabs for his toes. Sometimes they even make it to his mouth!

Camden having a staring contest with the giraffe on his play gym. The giraffe won!

Fun with Daddy

Heading to the pool
Only Daddy would figure out that Cam likes to play in the laundry basket :)
First time on the swings
Lots of talk about the upcoming football season

Daddy gives Camden crazy hair dos!

Dressed up like a baseball player

Playing peek-a-boo

I love to watch Toby and Camden play together...it is amazing all of the creative ways Toby entertains him! Let's just face it, Daddy plays in a way that Mama never can! We have been spoiled to have Daddy home with us this summer and are sad that this is his last week home. I have no doubt that every evening there will be an excited little boy when his daddy gets home to play! Here are some of the fun things that Daddy and Camden do together.

16 Weeks...Wow!

Camden likes to hang out in his Johnny Jump-Up!
Love this sweet pic of him!

Mama and Camden in a pre-church photo shoot. We didn't get any where he would look at the camera. :(

Probably his favorite past time right now (other than eating his hands or holding his toes), Cam loves to play in his "flying saucer" as daddy calls it.

15 Weeks of Fun!

Camden has a new favorite past time...playing in his Johnny Jump-Up! Toby has been so excited for when Cam got big enough to play in it and we decided yesterday was the day. Toby's dad used to play with them in a toy similar to this when he was growing up and he loved it. Looks like the tradition will continue with Camden!

Here are some more fun pictures from the week!
This kids loves grabbing his feet!

Still loves his baths

Happy boy

Doesn't he look shocked in this picture?!

Daddy also likes to have him pretend to stand up on the couch.

Just hanging out
