Camden's First Major League Game

Last Friday night we took Camden to his first MLB game to see the Rangers vs. Royals! He had a blast!

Riding the "shuffle" to the stadium. This was one of his favorite parts!

Cam asked a million and one questions during the game...never a quiet moment with this guy around!

The amount of snacks he consumed is quite incredible!

He made it through the whole game but was getting tired towards the end. Our crew was happy that the Royals got the win!

And a big thanks to Auntie Ashlee for taking good care of our girl!

August Happenings

These two have started truly playing together! This moment captured 30 straight minutes of them playing alone without needing Mama. Yahoo!!!

Halle was SO proud to drive her own little cart at Market Street!

Captured this beautiful sight on my morning run one day.

We spent a couple of days at a local lake beach and the kids loved it!

These two wouldn't stop hugging at lunch one day! Hope they always love each other this much!

The local gymnastics center had an open house/carnival last Sunday while I tutored. Toby took the kids and they had a blast!

Busy bag fun!

This girl always has a great accessory get up!

Mama's Baylor girls out celebrating Meghan's birthday.

We went swimming and to lunch with the Baylor crew the next day and had a great time!

Camden earned a box of Lucky Charms for finally learning how to buckle the world's toughest booster seat to buckle! Oh happy day!

After meet the teacher, Cam and I took his buddy, Luke to Kids Mania. They had an amazing time!

Halle played at her friend, Callie's while we were gone. Looks like she had a fun time too!

Love seeing my kids grow up with our incredible Lifegroup...what a blessing!

Nana & Papa came to town last week to help take care of/entertain Camden while he recovered. As always, we had a great time and really appreciate all their help!

Goodbye Tonsils!

Poor Camden has been plagued with strep and throat infections this year. Since Thanksgiving, he was hit 7 times with the last 4 illnesses being in a 2 month window! It was crazy; we'd be off meds for 2-3 days and the same symptoms would start up again. It was also very odd that no one else ever got sick, just Cam. On illnesses number 7, Mama had enough and called the ENT. She took one look in Cam's throat and said we needed to take them out!

We read several books and talked about the surgery often leading up to the day. We answered a million 4 year old questions and even had a "Goodbye Tonsils" party!

I think all of these things helped prepare our little man for surgery day! He was a fabulous patient and handled it all way better than we expected.
He was really excited about his hospital gown and the cool socks he wore! His buddy, Noah made him a dog at Build-a-Bear affectionately known as "Tonsil Doggie." Tonsil Doggie even got to go into the OR with Cam!

Cam was not a fan of waiting in recovery with an IV and monitors on but thankfully that was for a short period of time! Then we got to go home.
At home he was showered with get well gifts, cards, movies and lots of Popsicles. Toby and I are afraid he might ask to get them out again since everyone treated him so well!

The hardest part of recovery has been keeping him on low activity mode. If you know Cam, you know he never walks anywhere. We're very thankful that everything went so well and hopefully we are done with strep!!!
