Halle is 2!

Halle Lauren is 2!  We are SO thankful for such a healthy, sweet daughter! Here is what life with Halle looks like these days…
• Halle had a great doctor visit and was 37.5 inches (greater than 97%) and just under 27 pounds (48%).  She is our long, lean girl! Halle wears 2T and a size 7 or 7.5 in shoes.  We need to move up from 5 to size 6 diapers!
• This girl LOVES her sleep! She sleeps from about 8 pm to 8:15-8:30 am every night and we never hear a peep!  We frequently sneak in before we got to bed and hold her for a while.  Halle goes down for nap around 2 every day and sleeps around 2 hours.  She likes to sleep with her paci, pillow, blanket, and one of her stuffed animals.  When she wakes in the morning or from nap, she likes to grab toys or books from her basket and play for a bit before she gets up!
• When she’s not teething, Halle’s a great eater, but when she is, there is no convincing her to eat something she doesn't want to!  Normally, she eats almost everything that we do.  Some of her favorite foods are: whole grain waffles, cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, cereal, any fruit, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, pizza, tomatoes, and cucumbers.  She asks for Ranch or Ketchup at most meals so she can dip her food.  And this girl LOVES her dessert and probably gets more of it than she should!
• Halle girl has Mama's blonde, curly hair and skin color, but Daddy’s hazel eyes and facial features.  She looks a lot like her big brother, but in a very girly way!  She only has 12 teeth that are taking their painful time breaking through.
• I cannot believe how her language has exploded!  I love that she can now express her thoughts and it so fun to hear what she is thinking!  She talks in sentences and knows too many words to count!
• Halle is great with her manners, usually remembering to say "please, thank you, bless you, sorry."  We are working on always greeting people (she’s a bit shy with unfamiliar people) and saying excuse me when she bumps into someone!
• This girl goes non-stop!  She loves to have races with Camden and will run the whole time even though she’s way behind.  Halle’s a big dancer and has really started enjoying swimming this summer!
• Halle LOVES seeing her friends!  It has been fun to see her starting learning everyone’s names and talk about them.  I’m so thankful we have lots of buddies around her age!  We stay super busy during the weeks by lunch dates, music class, library story time, and playgroups.
• Halle can be very dramatic which makes things tough at times.  When she gets upset about something, she is very difficult to distract.  We spend a fair amount of time in time-outs which really seem to help her calm down.  Praying that this phase will pass soon because it is tough on us all!
• She is a little sponge and loves learning!  Halle can count 1-14, can say the ABC's and can identify a few letters and sounds, knows 10 colors, identifies some shapes, and lots of other things that amaze me!  Of course, I am supposed to be the proud Mama!
• Halle loves to sing!  Some of her favorites are "God is So Good", "Twinkle, Twinkle", "ABCs" and many more! Frequently she’ll start singing along to the radio.
• Some of her favorite things right now are: all things Minnie Mouse, puzzles, dress up, cars, games, bubbles, wrestling with Daddy and Camden, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Paw Patrol,  Lego Duplos, Leap Frog Letter Factory, giving hugs and sloppy kisses, reading books, and pretending.
• Halle adores he big brother “Cam-an” and asks about him frequently when he’s not with her.  I love seeing how they love one another!
We are so incredibly thankful for our precious two year old and pray that the Lord continues to richly bless her life!  What an honor to get to be her Mama and Daddy!
