A Glimpse of 23 Weeks

Relaxing in Mama and Daddy's bed

Daddy likes to balance me while I sit up!

Hanging out with Copper

And then this happens...

Still loving my exersaucer

And putting everything in sight in my mouth!

Camden likes to knock down all his toys when he plays.
We love you, Camden Lloyd!

5 Months Old!

Camden turned 5 months old on Tuesday! I can’t believe how quickly the past month went by. Here’s the scoop on Cam at 5 months.
• No doctor visit this month so we are estimating his stats with our trusty tape measure and decade old bathroom scale. We think Cam is around 17 pounds and nearing 28 inches long.
• Right now Camden wears 3-6 months clothes in all but pants. Those are 6-9 months due to his length. He wears size 2 diapers during the day and size 3 at night.
• The eating department has undergone some big changes this month. We are down to only four feedings a day (spaced four hours apart). He is still eating around 8-9 ounces when we bottle feed. The big change is that we introduced solids. We tried rice cereal first and then oatmeal. He was ok with those, but did not seem to really want them much. However, he has LOVED his veggies so far. He has tried carrots, sweet potatoes, and butternut squash. We try green beans tomorrow! Right now he has oatmeal for breakfast, whichever new veggie we’re introducing for lunch and then rice cereal and a veggie for dinner. Mama is making his baby food which she is enjoying! What she is not enjoying are the extremely gross diaper changes that solids bring!
• Camden is still sleeping like a champ, especially at night! He goes down about 8:00 or 8:15 and sleeps until 7:30-7:45 in the morning. This is our goal for his nighttime sleep for a long time, so it feels good to have reached a stopping point there! Some mornings he wakes earlier, but plays quietly until we go in to get him. He is such a happy boy in the mornings! During the day he takes three naps: about 1 ½ hours in the morning, 2-2 ½ in the afternoon, and around 1 hour in the early evening.
• Camden is a strong, active boy! This month he has learned to sit up (when we place him in that position) and can stay for a long time! Sitting is starting to rival standing as his favorite position. Cam likes to kick a lot when being held, lying down, and really in any position. People always say it looks like he is ready to start running around! This makes him mama tired just thinking about chasing after him
• It has been fun to introduce Camden to some “older” kid toys this month. He still enjoys rattles and blocks, but also likes several of the light up/noisy toys. Daddy says we may not replace batteries in several of them once they run out. He also still really likes his Exersaucer and has re-discovered a love for the swing this month.
• Giggles and full out laughs have become very common this month and we love them! It cracks us up what makes him laugh…the most random things for sure! His precious smile brightens our days and his giggle can’t help but put you in a better mood.
• Our areas of growth are still the car seat (although it is much better), the jogging stroller, and the nursery while Mama is at MOPS. MOPS is almost 3 hours long and Cam decided he should go on a nap strike during that time. Poor nursery workers had to try to keep him happy the whole time! We are really hoping we can improve there.

We love our precious son so much and are so proud that he is ours!

P.S. I had to include these other pictures of Camden with his dog. This was the first month he really noticed him sitting there with him. He really wanted to play with (and eat) him instead of posing with him. It was too cute!

Trying New Things at 22 Weeks

Camden turned 5 months old yesterday! Yikes, where did the time go?! The first three months seemed kinda slow, but these past two have flown by! I will be making a post soon about Cam at 5 months, but still need to take his fun month picture.

Week 22 has been filled with fun and trying new things. I absolutely love watching how Camden does as he experiences new things! Some things he loves, some he hates, and some he seems to have no opinion on. Here are some of our highlights from the week!

Sitting Up & Family Fun: Camden has started sitting on his own without using his hands to prop him up! We have to place him a sitting position and stay close by because he tips over if he gets to excited about something nearby, but he can hold the pose for quite a while. We are so proud of our big boy! The weather has been fairly nice (compared to the Texas summer heat) in the evenings, so we have enjoyed some family time outside. I love our attempt to take a family picture by ourselves, didn't quite work out!
First Husker Game to Watch: This week was the first week Nebraska was on a channel we got at home, so Camden got to watch his first game. Well, kind of....he slept the whole first half and then ate and played for a lot of the second. I have a feeling this is the first of many games for him and Daddy to enjoy together. They also had a great wrestle time with Copper!

Veggies: Camden tried veggies for the first time and they were a BIG success! It is safe to say that he certainly prefers them over oatmeal and rice cereal. Mama is having fun making his food and thinks it is funny how much carrots, sweet potatoes, and butternut squash all look and taste the same! Here are some pics from our first experience with carrots.

Sippy cup: I really had no clue what Camden would do with this, but I decided to give it a try. I figured he was probably still really young for it, but I figured it wouldn't hurt. I decided I would let him play/drink from it when we did solids. The first day he was very curious, but had no idea what to do with it. I then helped him drink from it and he really liked it! This was also his first taste of water. :) By day two, he was able to hold and drink it on his own if I placed his hands for him. He still needs lots of help with it and barely drinks anything from it, but seems to really enjoy the new experience!

The Run Down at 21 Weeks

Sweet boy loves his bath time!

Apparently, Camden likes oatmeal a lot more than rice cereal!

Oh how we love this sweet little face!
Nana & Papa came to visit us on Tuesday before they left on vacation. We enjoyed going to lunch and playing with them. Camden especially enjoyed playing catch with them!

This is from the Plano football game a few weeks ago, not so sure that Cam loves the mascot! (Please excuse the belly shot.)

Who knew...

that taking a deep breath was so funny? It is so funny to watch Camden giggle when daddy takes a deep breath. :) And of course Copper needed to make an appearance too!

Lots of Firsts at 20 Weeks

This past week Camden got to experience a lot of new things! It is so fun to have so many "firsts" with a little baby and I love seeing how he responds to each one. Happy 20 weeks to our sweet boy!
First Baby Food Experience

Cam was excited to start!

Hmmm....what is this stuff?!

The verdict is still out if he likes rice cereal. Days 1 & 2 were pure mess, days 3 & 4 he seemed to catch on & enjoy it, but days 5 & 6 he has seemed not interested.

He does pretty good with getting it off of the spoon.

The end result: one messy baby! :)

First College Football Game Day

I think this is the day Toby has been looking forward to ever since we found out we were having a boy! Camden has heard a lot of talk about the Huskers and probably knows every word to the Fight Song! Unfortunately the game was only on pay per view, so Camden missed it. Many thanks to Auntie Ashlee for babysitting so Mama and Daddy could go watch it!

Isn't he adorable in his Husker gear that Auntie Alison got him?!

First Football Game

Toby took Camden to the Plano football game Friday night. Camden sported his shirt that the Wildcat Booster Club gave him. The back says "Schulte Class of 2028."
Front says "Hey Coach, Put Me In." So cute! Hope it still fits during basketball season!

I was curious to see how he would do since the game started at his bedtime. Toby said he was a little fussy, but seemed ok. I texted Toby around half time and got this picture. Sweet Mrs. Wiltz put him to sleep. We decided it was time for our little boy to come home! He was exhausted!

Here are some non-first things from our week!

It is tough to get a good pic with this boy when Copper is in the room. :) He LOVES his doggy!
Mama and Camden at Tin Star on Labor Day~we loved having daddy home an extra day!
Camden has started grabbing at everything, even water in the bathtub.
Despite how un-cool I look, this is a very common way for Camden to ride these days. He is not a huge fan of the stroller and is pretty heavy to carry for long periods of time, but he loves this!

I think this is part of why he likes it so much...he chews on the front non-stop!

Isn't he the cutest?!?!

His new favorite toys this week: the paper towel holder and a kleenex box! We really do have cool toys for him, I promise. :)

Copper and Camden seem to be best friends these days. I want to video them soon; Cam's face lights up the minute Cooper comes around. Cooper has also become more interested in Camden, especially during bathtime and when it is time to wake Camden up. It is so cute!
