And just like that our Camden Lloyd is FOUR! Happy 4th Birthday to our sweet boy! Here's what life likes at age 4.
• No change here…you’re still a really long lean guy! At your doctor visit, you were 46 inches (99%) and 45 pounds (78%). They also checked your vision and hearing; you passed both! You had to get shots and that was not fun for either of us. Thankfully you won't need shots again until age 11!
• Since you're so tall, you were big clothes! Cam wears mostly 5T or 5 clothes and size 6 pjs. At a few stores I've had to start shopping in the big boy section. You wear a size 12.5 in shoes.
•You continue to be a fabulous sleeper! You sleep from about 8:30 pm to 7:30 am every night and we never hear a peep! You come out and go potty each morning and then go back in your room to play until 8:00 am. You have a clock that lights up when you can come out! Amazingly you still nap most days! I think our days are numbered, but you do well with room time on days you don't nap. You usually nap for about 1.5 hours. You sleep with your Nebraska blanket, a water cup and a zoo of stuffed animals! We still use a sound machine at night and you also listen to your radio as you go to sleep!
• You’re a pretty good eater and love to have “snacks” as you say! Some of your favorite foods are: whole grain waffles, cereal, blackberries, strawberries, smoothies, cheese, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, pizza, tomatoes, and cucumbers. You aren't very good at trying new things, but Daddy and I think you should try them. Mealtime can sometimes be tough when you decide you don't like something.
• Camden has Mama's eyes, hair and skin color with Daddy's features. You seriously look just like Daddy when he was a boy just with blonder hair! We also get told ALL the time how much Halle looks like you.
• It is hard to keep up with your social calendar! You LOVE your friends and think I should have a playdate planned daily. You make friends wherever you go and walk up to kids and introduce yourself. The only downside to your social side is that you're not very good at independent play and can get very frustrated when there's no one to play with.
• Camden is quite the chatterbox! You talk nonstop! You are SO inquisitive and constantly ask us questions.
•You are a very affectionate boy which Mama loves (and Daddy too), but also are very busy! I don't think you are ever still except for sleeping.
• You love to keep your days busy! You love MDO 2 days a week and have really built some great friendships at school. On non-school days we go on lots of adventures, but you hate when I say its an errand day.
•Your overall behavior is pretty good, but we've seen a lot of willfulness and whininess this past year. Time outs usually deter him, but we do have had to spank occasionally. I feel like you've grown a lot in this past year in understanding sad choices, sin, forgiveness, etc.
• Camden is a little sponge and loves learning! I'm a very proud Mama, but I can't believe all the things you know. This year you've learned to write your name and a few other words, find beginning and ended sounds in most words, rhyme a lot of words, count really high, and have a wealth of knowledge on all things science. I think you may be a science boy like your Daddy!
• Some of your favorite things right now are: dinosaurs, science experiments, sports, cars and trucks, trains, playing games, music, helping Daddy "fix" things, Paw Patrol, Magic School Bus, Leap Frog videos, giving hugs, playing on the iPad, reading books, and pretending.
• You are a FABULOUS big brother! Halle absolutely ADORES you! You help with her a lot and love to give her lots of hugs.
We are SO proud of you and can't wait to see how God continues to grow you in the next year. What a joy it is to be your parents; we love you, Camden Lloyd!
