18 Months Old!

Our sweet Halle girl turned 18 months on Monday!  We are SO thankful for how she blesses our life and feel honored to get to raise her.  Here's a look at life with Halle at 1.5 years.
~The long and lean trend continues!  Halle is 34.5 in (99%) and 24.5 lbs (52%).  She got an excellent report at her well visit today and we never take her health for granted!
~Halle wears 24 months or 2T clothes and size 5 shoes.  Mama has to hunt for slender clothes that are long enough but don't fall off!  Halle wears a size 5 diaper.
~This girl is a FABULOUS nighttime sleeper!  She goes down around 8 pm and usually sleep until 8:15-8:45 am without a peep.  She sleeps with her sound machine on, paci in, covered with a blanket and has recently started using a small pillow.  We love that she wakes up happy and always greets us with a big smile and usually some jumps in her crib!  We are in the process of transitioning her napping so she currently takes a 45 minute morning nap (I wake her) and an almost two hour afternoon nap.
~When Halle feels 100% she is a great eater!  However with all the teething and colds in the past few months, she's been a little more picky.  She eats all finger foods and has even started using a spoon and fork (with assistance).  Some of her favorites are fruits, cheese, pasta, eggs, and any sweets!  This girl also loves to eat ice...I think it feels good on all her teeth coming in.
~Halle certainly fits in with the rest of the Schulte family!  She looks A LOT like big brother Camden, but with brown eyes like Daddy.  She has Mama's eye shape and super blonde hair.  Her hair has really grown in and we love the curls at the bottom!  It is now long enough in front that we have to fix it in order to be out of her eyes.  Mama doesn't mind this one bit!  She has been pretty slow getting teeth, only having 4 at 15 months but has recently had 6 more coming in!
~Sweet girl has a lot of words, but is quieter than her big brother was.  I think she has around the same number of words as he had, but she talks less often.  I'm often amazed at her language; yesterday, she opened a book and said "elefun" on her own.  With more words has come less frustration in communication!  She puts together a few words like "thank you" "love you" and "up (or other words) please".  She is getting pretty good at her "please" and "thank you" manners.
~Her receptive language is fabulous!  She can follow directions well and seems to understand what we tell her the large majority of the time.  She knows lots of body parts, animal noises and has started trying to sing!
~She is becoming more and more active!  Halle has become a much better climber and has a fast walk/run move now!  This girl LOVES to dance!!!  Anytime she hears music, she gets down...it is so cute!  She is not very tough and tends to melt down at most any crash.
~Halle tends to be pretty dramatic with lots of things: falls, not getting her way, strangers, etc.  We are working on how to best help her through these melt downs and when to discipline for them.
~It has been fun to see Halle's social side start to emerge!  She loves to see her friends and has started giving hugs without prompting.  Halle lights up at the sight of kids and frequently "flirts" with strangers at restaurants or stores.
~Some of Halle's favorite things right now are: dancing, taking care of her babies, playing cars/planes, cooking in her kitchen, books, dress up with jewelry and hats, Mickey Mouse, stickers, crayons, closing doors, Copper and pretend playing.  She is pretty content playing alone for an extended period of time (something big bro has never done well).

We love our Halle Lauren and can't imagine our family without her!  We turned her car seat around on her 18 month birthday and she was so proud!
