This & That

Halle playtime!

Mama, Daddy & Camden attended a meeting for incoming Kinder students!

These two loved having cousin Garrett come visit for Camden's birthday!

Daddy tried out our new "double" stroller with Liam & Halle and got in a great game of Monopoly with Layla.

Monday was a gorgeous day for a picnic at the park with friends!
We all loved exploring the Frisco Playstreet Museum with our pals.  Such a neat place!

These two love doing "homework" in their workbooks.

Glasses Girl

About a month or so ago we noticed that one of Halle's eyes sometimes turned inward, appearing a little cross-eyed at times.  We prayed it wasn't related to her shunt and took her into our pediatrician.  Thankfully he saw no signs of a shunt malfunction, but did think she most likely has strabismus.

We saw a pediatric ophthalmologist the following week who diagnosed Halle with strabismic amblyopia.  The treatment for Halle will be glasses, patching and most likely surgery.  We were very saddened by the news and its especially hard since she has already been through so much in her short 2.5 years.  But I am extremely thankful that we got a quick diagnosis with a proven treatment plan and are starting the process while she is still so young.

So far she has exceeded our expectations greatly with how she has handled everything!  She was the perfect patient at the ophthalmologist, even during eye dilation...no tears at all!  Shopping for glasses was a little more difficult as she grew tired of it after a bit, but now she has the glasses and is keeping them on like a pro!  We are having some problems with her trying to look at the tops of them not through them, but hopefully that will be resolved soon.

The treatment plan is glasses for 6 weeks, followed by patching.  I'm dreading that part as I can't imagine she will handle that part easily, so please pray for us!  They will evaluate if the glasses are helping and then determine if she needs to continue wearing them.

But for now, we think we have the cutest glasses girl around!
Playing with Daddy at the doctor's office.

Glasses shopping made us both want to cry!  Then we found some cute ones that we were both happier about.

Silly girl showing off her new look!

Nana brought Mama's American Girl Molly (complete with glasses) for Halle!  Our plan is that Molly will also do patching with her.  Here's hoping that helps!

Happy Easter!

Camden had a great time at his preschool Easter egg hunt and party! I'm continually reminded of how blessed we are to be at such a great preschool.

And then we had a wonderful Sunday celebrating our Risen Savior complete with church, a visit from the Easter bunny, yummy dinner out and an egg hunt!

Palm Sunday

The week before Easter they were discussing Palm Sunday at Cam's school and one little boy jumped on the floor and pretended to be the donkey.  Without missing a beat, Camden jumped on his back and declared he was Jesus!  This boy keeps us laughing!

Catch Up

Here's a look at the end of March and beginning of April!
Halle had a blast playing with her buddy, Jude!

Halle girl made a new friend at the library one day.

Mimi & Grampa came to town and we had so much fun!  Both kids got lots of cuddles in and we ate well and explored the Perot!

We played so hard that Cam took his first nap in months!

Halle is addicted to puzzles!

I just love Camden's preschool class. Ms. Jenny does such a great job with them!

We enjoyed a zoo day adventure with friends!

Mama had to capture a snapshot of her quiet, solo meal while Daddy took the kids to the movie.

Camden had a great time celebrating Evan's birthday!

Sure love this stage of life!

One of the sweet mamas in Camden's preschool class is fighting breast cancer.  We all wore pink in support of her on surgery day!
