This year we spent Thanksgiving in Nebraska and really enjoyed getting to spend so much time with our family there. We really hate that we all live so far apart, but always love our time together! With Mimi and Grampa's help, we were able to fly up and have more time there and less time traveling. We were VERY appreciative of this!
Camden was SUPER excited to fly since he couldn't remember his other airplane trips and is currently obsessed with the movie Planes. Toby gave him a pep talk about being a helper and it really sunk in; he was not only super well behaved, but was also really helper. We were so proud of him. I was pretty nervous about how Halle would do as we had several things working against us: recovering from strep throat, flying way past her bedtime, her dramatic personality and a really small plane (think only 3 seats total across). However, she did really well! We had no extended crying sessions...halleluiah! She required me to be on my A game the whole time with lots of entertainment and refused to let Toby hold her, but we survived AND I don't think anyone on the flight hated us afterwards. Here's a look at some of our flight experience!
Camden wore his backpack and pulled a full size carry on suitcase. Several times I offered help and he would reply that he could do it; its his job.
In flight entertainment at its finest...please don't judge, there was lots of sugar and lots of iPhone time! My philosophy on the flight was whatever it takes to keep them happy and quiet.
My heart was so proud of Cam man as I saw my two boys walk off the jet way with all of our bags. Such hard workers!
One of the things we were most excited about was meeting our new twin cousins/nephews and playing with our other cousins! I love that our kids will grow up with cousins so close in age. Camden and Halle had a blast with them...here's a look at some of the week together.
The weather was GORGEOUS one day so they enjoyed some time at the park playing. LOVE these pics Toby got of Halle in the leaves.
Mimi set up a Lego table in her bedroom so the littles couldn't interrupt. The big boys spent lots of time playing there!
I loved seeing my kiddos love on their baby cousins.
Silly Mama and Camden sending Nana funny pictures!
How cute is Halle all dressed up for church?!
Mama spent got lots of baby snuggles with Seth, Owen & Rebekah.
Uncle T.J. always provides great entertainment for Cam!
Halle & Seth having a deep conversation.
Sweet Susannah pushing Halle at the park. I love that Halle will grow up with such a sweet older girl cousin and pray that they will always be good friends.
Sweet playtime.
Love Camden's face here...this was when we first met the twins! He was so excited, even at 11 pm!
It is such a blessing to have such a close knit extended family too. We spent Thanksgiving day at the church (since we're too big for a home now) with the entire Bohlke clan and even had the after party at the Schulte home. What a wonderful Thanksgiving!
My mother-in-law is always the hostess with the moistest! Seriously, she cooks like every meal, gets up with the kids, plays non-stop and never seems to be tired! You can't even tell she had 6 extra adults and 8 kids age 6 and under in her home for 5 days straight!
My sweet sister-in-laws, Kristin (with baby Rebekah) and Marla. So blessed by these two ladies and their friendship!
Mimi & Aunt Michelle with all the grandkids (you can se how much Halle wanted to take a group pic...haha!)
Just a small part of the kids table.
On Friday, Mimi & Aunt Kristin were sweet enough to babysit so we could go the Nebraska game. The outcome was extremely disappointing, but we always enjoy cheering on the Huskers!
Game day excitement at Memorial Stadium is unreal!
We got to meet up with a former Plano student now Husker after the game.
And I got to visit with my college bestie Alison for a bit. Love that girl!
On Saturday we celebrated Christmas with the Schulte family. How cute are the kids in their Christmas pajamas?!
These girls were so happy to have unplanned matching pjs!
Clearly Halle was feeling the group shot again!
The Schulte Cousins
Seth (3 mo), Joshua (6 yrs), Micah (2.5 yr), Rebekah (7 mo), Susannah (4 yr), Halle (16 mo), Camden (3.5 yr) and Owen (3 mo)
